Many angler use live worms for fishing, but unfortunately do it wrong. You're
probably thinking to yourself, how can I do it wrong for God's sake? Wrong may be
too harsh a word, so how about 'fish live worms improperly'? It's not that most anglers
are fishing with live worms improperly on purpose; it's simply that they've never seen
a better way. That better way is quite simple, and yet very effective. The point of the
matter is that simply "threading" a live worm onto a hook isn't going to be necessary
after reading this article.
Anytime live worms are used for fishing, a set of gang hooks should also be used.
What's a set of gang hooks, you ask? A set of gang hooks is simply a pair of small
hooks tied in tandem that enable you to present live worms in a completely natural
manner. That is, outstretched, the way they look in nature. With gang hooks there is
no need to "thread" a worm onto a hook or create the famous "worm ball", by hooking
a single worm over and over again. With gang hooks the days of using these
outdated methods of fishing with live worms is over.
So how do you get your hands on some of these gang hooks? Simple, with a little
research into knots you can tie them yourself or you can purchase them pre-made, it
makes little difference at the end of the day. What's important is that you begin using
gang hooks sooner, rather than later. Gang hooks and live worms go together like
politicians and being deceitful. If you're going to fish with live worms anyway, why not
do it in the most efficient and effective way possible?
Can "threading" a live worm onto a hook or fishing with a "worm ball" catch fish? Of
course, but those methods just aren't that effective. Especially when it comes to
larger, more experienced fish. When live bait is presented in a completely natural
manner, it will be more effective; it's as simple as that. You can use a stick with a
piece if string as your fishing rod, but you don't. There are much more effective
materials to be used, and you use them. The same should go for you live worm fishing.
